Attack on Titan was one of the most influential series to come out of Japan in the previous decade, and it ended last month. If you didn’t know, the manga’s last chapter was published in early April by author Hajime Isayama. Of course, fans had lots to say about the ending, but Attack on Titan still has a lot more tale to tell. After all, there’s a special in the works that promise to shed light on Mikasa’s feelings for Eren.
Fans of the show were recently thrown into a tizzy when rumors about Eren and Mikasa appeared online. Users such as MangaMoguraRE wrote comments telling fans that a special “rom-com collection” for Attack on Titan will be released shortly. When it premieres in June 2021, this aside will center on the pair, and fans are as excited as you’d anticipate.
After all, Mikasa’s affections for Eren were not hidden in Attack on Titan. The series established that the girl has feelings for Eren, which developed into love as the two got older. Mikasa even tries to express her sentiments on the battlefield, but as anybody who has finished Attack on Titan knows, her love was insufficient to please Eren.
Despite her efforts, the kid chose a dark path towards the conclusion of the manga, and Eren became humanity’s final foe. Mikasa was obliged to assassinate Eren for the good of the world after his genocidal turn resulted in the deaths of millions. Eren was able to express his actual feelings for Mikasa in his final moments, and his requited love seemed more sorrowful than anything else. Now, this rom-com may show Attack on Titan fans how things may have gone differently, so keep a lookout for it!
Mikasa’s husband and children argue Titan’s power is still there?
For the majority of fans following the series, Eren and Mikasa’s childhood love affair sacrificed for the cause, was already too sad when the two loved each other but did not have the opportunity to be together. Even the rare kiss between them was only depicted after Eren’s death. The emotions that the couple gives the reader are too deep and haunting. So it’s hard to accept that only 8 pages after the scene where Mikasa sits under the tree thinking about Eren are the scene where she takes her husband and children to visit his grave. And it is worth mentioning that the “husband” figure seems to be Jean.
However, if you think about it for a moment, it’s not too much for Mikasa to overcome the pain and choose to move on with another man. You deserve to be happy after so much loss. What makes fans really shocked beyond words is the detail that Paradis Island was destroyed but Titan’s power still exists. Following the series from the beginning and until chapter 139, readers all agree that the source of the disaster comes from Titan’s power. Eren chose to sacrifice also to destroy this power completely. However, rumors suggest that the author turned the car around at the last minute, revealing that the power is still there. This detail is like wiping away all Eren’s efforts and sacrifices.
Even if the above two revelations are not enough to make fans feel uneasy, the third revelation about the past of the ancestors Ymir and King Fritz is even more confusing. Author Hajime Isayama changed the episode where Ymir took the spear for King Fritz to make Ymir unable to save her husband and children. It seems that the reader’s reaction to the love affair between Ymir and King Fritz was too harsh, so the author was forced to modify a few old details to make the ending reasonable.
