He Possesses The Powers Of The Founding Titan

The Progenitor Titan, which is more commonly referred to as simply the Founding Titan, is the first titan to ever be created. It is one of the nine original titans that were responsible for the creation of all titans in the future. It is able to control other titans through its scream.

The Founding Titan also has the incredible power of erasing or editing the memories of every human on this planet (except the Ackermans).

Eren’s Founding Titan Form

Apart from its sheer size, most people knew next to nothing about the Founding Titan, since it could easily be viewed above the walls. When Eren takes over the titan’s power, its form is revealed to be grotesque.

There is no flesh on his upper body, due to which one can easily see the disproportionately huge rib cage it has. In fact, its rib bones are so big that they nearly touch the ground. The same is the case with its backbone, except it extends upwards toward the sky. It has tiny legs and when it walks, it mimics the walk of a millipede.

His Initial Hatred For Titans

From the very beginning, one of the most defining features of Eren has been his rage for titans, which has always fueled his desire to kill as many titans as he can. In the manga, he uses the suffix –hiki for titans. This suffix is usually used when discussing smaller animals.

Everybody else used the –Tai suffix, something that people use for animals of much larger sizes. He also has an exceptionally high titan kill rate, both from his human form and his titan form.

He Becomes A Lot Calmer After The Coup D’état

The military rose against the unjust practices of the Royal Government, and it was triggered by their decision to disband the Survey Corps permanently. This uprising was dubbed the coup d’état.

As a result of this long-drawn rebellion, the extremely selfish and corrupt older monarchy was eventually overthrown. After that the genuine royal descendants from the Reiss family took over control of the kingdom and rule it well. It is this very kingdom that Historia later on inherits and becomes the queen of.

He Becomes Aware That He Has A Magnetic Personality

From the very beginning, Eren has shown to have a natural talent for being able to arouse confidence in the hearts of his comrades, simply via his speeches. While he did so unwittingly in the beginning, in the later years he became very aware of this ability.

He, later on, used his charisma to form the Yeagerists and make everybody believe that he’s their one true leader. He also convinced Falco to deliver a letter outside the internment zone, despite knowing that it was forbidden for him to do so.

Unlike Mikasa, His Morality Is Grey

This is the future Eren we’re talking about. He’s older and has a lot to experience. This Eren believes that the ends justify the means, and he believes in this intently. This can be seen when he declares to kill all non-residents of Paradis Island or when he turns into a titan and kills innocent Eldian bystanders during his attack on Willy Tybur.

Even children are not spared by him. He manipulates a 12-year boy into doing his bidding, despite knowing the repercussions of his actions and how they might negatively impact his entire family.

Knowing The Future Leads Him To Become Depressed

In one of the most startling (but confusing) revelations in the Attack on Titan manga, readers are told that Eren always knew how things would end in the future. He also mentioned how he had traveled back in time and planted important information in younger Eren’s mind.

Since he knows how horrifying the end is going to be for everyone involved, he has lost all hope. More so because he is now aware of the divide between the Eldians themselves, both of whom view the other as enemies instead of friends.

His Father Was Also A Titan

Unlike Eren, Grisha Yeager’s titan was the Attack Titan. It had a height of 15 meters and a body whose upper half was big and heavy when compared to its legs and arms. He had beady eyes, a mouth covered with its own flesh, long ears, and long black hair. He also had hair on his chest and chin.

Of course, its appearance with Eren’s original titan was quite similar, although this similarity is never explicitly explained.

His Mother Knew Nothing Of Grisha’s Past

For Carla, Keith was nothing but a kind and loving wanderer who needed a place he could call home. They met at the bar where she worked as a waitress. She started loving him when he helped cure an illness that was threatening her life.

Both of them married soon and had Eren. Even so, Grisha was always careful about the knowledge he possessed. He never once told Carla about the outside world. It is not clear what his reasons were for doing so.

He Learns To Let Go Of His Hatred For Titans

As stated before, one of the biggest driving points for young Eren in the Attack on Titan series was his hatred for titans, and how he wanted to kill them all. With the passage of time and an increased level of knowledge, that perception of his changed.

Once he reads his father’s handwritten notes on the titans, he finds out that titans used to be humans. The Marleyans forcefully converted them as a means of punishment. This is when he was finally able to let go of all the rage he felt towards the titans.
