He Shows Regret For Killing So Many Titans

Despite his unusual expressions and extremely strict nature, Levi is a man who feels very sympathetic. He also takes saving every life that he can very seriously, simply because he values the lives of innocent people.

He once slashed giants without thinking carefully. But since he learned that the giants were once human, he became deeply concerned by the sheer number of humans he had killed.

Despite This, He Has A Hidden Sadistic Side

People would think that someone with empathy wouldn’t be the type to get the joy out of torturing others. However, Levi’s like that. This behavior is of course for those who misrepresent his people or the whole of humanity.

This was shown when he detailed to Anne how he would mutilate her human body until he got all he wanted from her. He also tortured Djel Sannes, Zeke, and a random soldier he caught for information.

He Physically Assaulted Historia When She Didn’t Do What He Asked

In rare cases, Levi has shown a let go of his calm appearance and accepted his strong emotions. One such situation was when Historia Reiss was supposed to be the queen of her kingdom but refused to do so.

Levi angrily grabbed her, lifted her off the ground, nearly choked her, and told her to fight her emotions. He then let go of her, and she could be seen coughing while trying to calm down.

He Gave A Tough Fight To Zeke Yaeger

Levi considers Zeke as his greatest enemy, more than that because Zeke had a goal against his back for a long time. However, during the battle at Shiganshina between the two of them, Levi was able to blind and injure Zeke.

His Comrades Turned Into Titans Before His Eyes

This takes place in the War for Paradise arc. Levi captured Zeke, who surprised him by running away. While doing so, he let out a loud scream. As a result, Levi watched his own Survey Corps soldiers transform into giants.

Levi is shocked but quickly regains consciousness and is able to dodge an attack by one of the giants. It didn’t take him long to realize that it was the wine his soldiers were drinking, which had somehow turned them into giants.

Even Zeke Didn’t Anticipate Levi Would Slaughter His Own Kind

As Zeke was on the run, he predicted that Levi would be slowed down and most likely killed by the giants, simply because he would refuse to kill his own. But in one of the more shocking situations in the manga, Levi didn’t hesitate at all.

In fact, when he caught up with Zeke by chasing him, he taunted him by saying that he made a big mistake by not being able to see this result.

He Instantly Punishes Zeke For His Actions

Due to his strong feelings of hatred towards Zeke, Levi had no problem hurting him over and over again. As long as Zeke is alive, that’s all he needs. So when Zeke woke up from his recapture, he found that the Thunder Spear had pierced his stomach.

When Levi saw him wake him up, he rebuked him for killing his soldiers. Then he started cutting parts on Zeke’s legs and was delighted when he screamed in pain.

At One Time He Thought About Cooperating With Zeke

Back in the Marley arc (a year after the Battle of Shiganshina) Levi is said to be speaking with Onyankopon and Yelena, the Marleyans rebel. The purpose of this meeting is so that he and his soldiers (including Eren) can discuss whether or not they should cooperate with Zeke.

Times of despair have called for desperate measures and no one understands this better than Levi. It was during this meeting that he confronted Eren about keeping the Founder Titan’s ability to control the power a secret from him.

He Makes Up His Mind To Stop Eren At All Costs

Like Mikasa, Armin, and the rest of Eren’s friends, Levi is soon disillusioned with the path Eren has taken. Although his feelings were not as strong as wanting to kill him, it changed when he received astonishing news.

After Levi woke up from his coma, he received a message from a text message meant to be communicated to all of Ymir’s subjects. The message says he decided to let the residents of Paradis live but killed every human living outside of it.

He Loses Chunks Of His Body Because Of Zeke

In a very ironic situation, Levi did not foresee Zeke launching an attack on him. While Levi was carrying Zeke away after capturing him, Levi threatened to cut off more parts of his leg to cover his mouth.

The fearful and desperate Zeke withdrew the Thunder Spear’s pin, leaving Levi so shocked he could not react. A large explosion occurred, affecting both men. Levi was sent flying towards a nearby river. As a result, Levi now has a few scars on his face and he has missing middle and index fingers on his right hand.
